About UNIBAG
An Egyptian manufacturer of polypropylene and polyethylene packaging, operating since 1996 from the Fourth Industrial Zone in 6th of October City.
How we started
United Company for Packaging Production was founded in 1996 under the decision of the Minister of Economy and International Cooperation, No. (114) of 1996.
Its purpose was to produce plastic packaging from polypropylene and polyethylene, and to trade and sell those products. That remains our only line of business today.
What we make ourselves
We start from polypropylene granules and finish with the bag printed in the customer’s own brand, inside our own plant.
Extrusion
PP granules are melted and formed into fine threads
Weaving
Threads are woven on circular looms into flat or tubular fabric
Lamination
A laminated layer is added where needed
Cutting & stitching
Fabric is cut to size and made up into bags

Continuous improvement
We run a visual management and production floor organisation programme, drawing on the Japanese 5S method, to improve the working environment and sustain productivity.
The people
The plant employs approximately 360 people — workers, technicians, engineers, chemists and administrative staff.
Woven packaging is a labour-intensive industry, so we develop our people through training programmes run with specialist companies.
